Mission 125 Celebrations Underway...
The Mission Community Archives and Mission Museum are actively involved in celebrations planned to celebrate the community's 125th anniversary of incorporation this year.
Last month, the Parks, Recreation, & Culture Department for the District of Mission generously provided exhibit space in the Leisure Centre for the Archives and Museum to use the entire year! A new exhibit will be mounted every 6 weeks.
Currently you can view the exhibit titled Community Builders: Mission's Visionary Citizens.
It showcases through the use of archival photographs and museum artifacts some of the early far-sighted, progressive and enterprising men and women who made significant contributions to the development and enhancement of Mission over the past 125 years.
And, on January 29th - exactly 125 days to Mission's official quasquicentennial
- Friday, June 2, 2017 - the Community Archives began a countdown through its weekly Facebook
feature Historical Trivialities.
Watch for the post every Sunday.
