Voices from the Past is aimed at collecting oral history and engaging artists and performers to interpret images of history to the public. We focus on different neighbourhoods, occupations, and pioneer families, and tell their story in unique and different ways.

In 2006, we engaged artists Myles Mathis, Helen Janas, Lynda Walchuk, Hannah Glukler and Catherine Vandall to create "heritage asset maps" that highlight special moments in the early settlement of Mission Flats. The completed works are available as prints and postcards at the Mission Museum gift shop.

In 2007, we collected oral history memories of the Fraser River - from tug boats, to fishing stories and water taxis and ferries.

For the 150th Anniversary of the Crown Colony of British Columbia in 2008, volunteers dressed in period costume at monthly events including Propsectors & Pioneers, the visit of the CPR Spirit Steam Engine, Celebrating our Agricultural Roots at the Farmers' Market, and Christmas in the Parlour at Carrington House.
